Job description
We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanics with 2-5 years’ experience.

Our Mechanics will work not only in our garage but will also perform field maintenance on our equipment at various customer sites. A variety of work is available on a daily basis with work preventative maintenance job as well as vehicle repairs on service trucks, vans and CDL vehicles.

Most of our fleet requires a Class B license with tanker endorsement and most of the equipment is manual transmission.

Although there are varying hours for work mechanics are home daily/nightly with the exception of pre-planned outage work. This outage work may involve work at one of our other locations for short periods of time. This time would be pre-scheduled and employees would receive per diem for their stay.

Qualifications
• 18 + years of age
• Preferred - Class B CDL license with tanker endorsement – clean driving record
• Diesel engine repair knowledge
• Hydraulic repair and diagnostic experience
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment
• Should have specific knowledge of heavy truck repairs in a commercial environment, including diesel engine system diagnostics to ensure equipment is operating appropriately
• Should be self-starting and organized
• Must possess a strong work ethic and good problem solving skills
• Must be willing to work flexible work schedule
Responsibilities
• Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Diagnose systems brakes, steering and transmissions using visual inspections by troubleshooting malfunctions and tracing problems
• Check and replace clamps, brackets, hoses and other system components.
• Remove malfunctioning parts and repair components or install new ones.
• Place orders for parts necessary to complete vehicle repairs and installations.
• Perform checklist of fluid levels, air filter, tire pressure and more as part of service orders.
• Maintain record accuracy by using work order reporting system.
• Manage inventory, maintain equipment and clean work areas.
• Ability to interact with employees – phone diagnostics, paperwork, parts calls, etc.
